I came to Tahoe in 1989 and stayed here during a ski trip. Everything was fine then, but it doesn't seem as though there have been any changes since then. The pool is very nice and you are right on the lake (or close if your room isn't lakefront) with great sunsets. It is not a great part of the lake for swimming however. The water is not clear along this stretch of shoreline. There is a long pier leading from the property that even has a restaurant over the lake (BlueWater Bistro).
It's probably a good idea to rent a car if you're staying here. It's a good location, but almost evrything is a short drive away.
