The
California Sno-Park permit is required for parking at areas such as Carson
Pass, Meiss Meadows (across the street from Carson Pass), Echo Summit, Echo
Lake, Donner Lake, Donner Summit, Blackwood Canyon, Blue Lakes Road, and Taylor Creek. The
permits can be purchased at many locations in Tahoe including the Tahoe
Paradise Chevron, Sunrise Ski & Snowboard (also in Myers), Kirkwood
Mountain Resort, The Backcountry (Tahoe City) , and Dave's Ski & Snowboard
(North Shore locations). Click here for the complete list of Sno-Park
permit vendors. I don't know about all the sno-parks, but at Carson
Pass, if you don't have a permit, or you don't put a date on your permit,
YOU WILL GET A TICKET. All sno-parks have at least limited bathroom facilities.
Permits are $5/day, or $25/season (Nov 1 - May 30). The funds are used to keep the sno-park areas clear of snow and for general maintenance. |
