We arrived at Carson Pass at about 8:30 or so to gear up. It had been a couple weeks so i had not remembered to bring an extra strap because the top ski cinch in my ancient da kine had given out last time out at Lassen. Looks like the skis were going on the shoulders and the Adrenalin's were gonna get a workout. The trail was snow free most of the way to winnemucca lake and the hiking was easy. Temps were surprisingly cool. When we reached the snow we headed up towards Moon Couloir but opted out since it were still firm and Tahoetrash was in his Converse Chuck Taylors. Our plan was The East Sister anyway and we might head back here on the way out.

Our line, the Sisters east summit

We were also considering heading to the North side of the pass pictured here. The backside of these small peaks are the series of gullies and chutes heading down to the Meiss Hut.

TahoeTrash scopes his line and wonders why those lakes are shaped so much alike.

Eager for more abuse, we decided to head back up and hit the skiers right side of the summit since it seemed to have been less scoured. For some reason, we decided to climb up the little false summit rather than walking around it.

Heading back down

Watch the wet sluff

Didn't I tell you to watch the wet sluff

Trash's line was up against the big cliff bands. My line's in the foreground. There's supposed to be video of me here. Moron that later

Then we headed back up on the shoulder of Round top to ski what we had hiked up. We took a peak in Moon Couloir, but someone had been there, and I was gonna be late for work as it was. The ski out was good.

Not our tracks in Moon Couloir

Too bad my current camera sucks for snow. Everything gets washed out. Most of these pics took extensive work with the brightness/contrast tool. This one was just too washed out.

Our handiwork (looks more like chickenscratch).
