Backcountry Access sponsors Beacon Basin at Kirkwood

Hundreds of people walk across them on a busy day. Few realize they are pulsing, alive, just a few feet (or in some cases meters) below the surface of the snow. BackcountryAccess' latest Beacon Basin is at Kirkwood Mountain Resort. There are six beacons buried at various depths and angles that can be turned on by remote control to represent single or multiple burials. The area is located at the east end of the Village between the Mountain Club and The Lodge. The control is located under the stairs adjacent to the Mountain Club in a black box.
