Zephyr Cove Resort is a rustic lodge and group of cabins tucked in the pines along one of Tahoe's most beautiful shorelines. This is probably not for you if you're looking to be pampered with room service and fancy linens. But if you want a cabin on the beach in Tahoe, these are among the best. While the resort is 3 miles from the glitter and night life of the Stateline casinos, it is the center of Tahoe's activity during the summer days. The beach is beautiful and water activities are plentiful. Zephyr Cove is widely recognized as a partying type of beach. If you are there during a busy summer period, this may present some issues for more sensitive families. While it is among Tahoe's most popular, it's also large enough that you can find some quiet space almost any time of the year. During the winter, you are definitely off the beaten path, unless the path includes snowmobiling. Zephyr Cove Snowmobiles is the largest snowmobiling operation west of the Rockies. Don't worry though, the resort only serves as the rendezvous point for the bus ride to the snowmobile location. You aren't actually near all the noise.

Avoid this during July 3-5. It is not the same beach it is the rest of the year.
