Backcountry, Hiking, and Ski/Snowboard Gear fit for the Sierra
Heading to Tahoe? Got gear? Whether you're visiting in the summer or the winter, there are some things you just shouldn't be without.
For instance, you should not
Head into the backcountry without a water purifier.
Head into the winter backcountry without an avalanche beacon.
Go on a hike without a water pack.
Go camping without a tent, or sleeping bag.
Visit the beach without a raft or kayak.
Ski/Ride without a helmet.
Those are the necessities. You may also want to consider some of the extras that will make your trip more enjoyable or allow you to do more.Waterproof, breathable outerware.

Alpine touring bindings
Split boards.
