Golf in Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe golf comes in a variety of styles, from the elegant charm of the Resort at Squaw Creek, to the overpowering beauty of Edgewood-Tahoe. At the lake, the golf season typically lasts from around memorial day to October though both dates are weather dependent. The Carson Valley offers golf year round although tee times may not be available on colder days or there may be late starts. The basic rule of thumb is that they won't allow you on the course while temps are freezing since it damages the grass.

South Shore
Lake Tahoe Country Club - Located southwest of South Lake Tahoe in Meyers, this is one of Tahoe's most popular courses.

Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course - Our Edgewood section almost contains as much info as the official site and it has more pictures. Edgewood is also the perennial home to the American Celebrity Golf Championship.

Glenbrook (9 hole) - (775) 749-5201 Private

The Bijou (9 hole) - Operated by the City of South Lake Tahoe Parks and Rec Dept, Bijou is a very basic, but also very inexpensive 9 hole course. (530) 542-6097

Tahoe Paradise Golf Course - Wear a helmet for this one folks. These holes are tighly packed. (530) 577-2121

North Shore
Tahoe City Golf Course - (530) 583-1516

Old Brockway Golf Course (9 hole) - Old Brockway is a nine hole gem, and is one of just a few courses in the region emploing organic management practices. (530) 546-9909

Incline Village - Incline is a municipal course operated by the Incline Village General Improvement District. But these courses are not your typical municipal dog tracks, due to the fact that Incline village is one of the richest municipalities in the country.

Northstar - Northstar's course is a tale of two nines, with one being in the more mountainous terrain near the ski resort and the other being below on the mellower slopes of the Martis Valley. Despite being a Vail resort property, the prices at Northstar are very reasonable, among the lowest in Tahoe. (530) 562-3290

Resort at Squaw Creek - Squaw Creek features 18 majestic holes at the base of Squaw Valley Ski Resort in beautiful Olympic Valley. Like Old Brockway, Squaw Creek uses organic mangement practices and is also recognized by Audobon International as a Certified Cooperative Sanctuary. (530) 581-6637

Tahoe Donner Golf Course - Tahoe Donner was completely remodeled in 2007 and has been nominated by Golf Digest as the Best Remodeled Course in America. Do yourself a favor and go see why. (530) 587-9443

Carson Valley Golf Course - Year round golf along the Carson River. (775) 265-3181

Eagle Valley - Two courses. The East Course is flat, wide open and not as challenging. The West Course runs up into the hills and is much more exciting.

Dayton Valley - East of Carson City in Dayton, this is a challenging course with lots of water and daily winds.

Sun Ridge Golf Club - An interesting test of golf. This short course features lots of water and large elevation changes.

Silver Oak Golf Course - A well manicured course in the foothills of Carson City.
