The celebrity golf championship is one of
the most successful of all Tahoe's events as well as the most
successful of the celebrity golf tour events. This year will be no
different as we have one of the best fields, and best conditions to go
along with it.
The actual tournament runs from Friday-Sunday but the entire week is filled with
excitement . Many believe the best time to attend is Tuesday-Thursday
since the crowds are less and there is more access to the celebrities. All times subject to change at the whim of mother nature.

The 2006 Celebrity Golf Tournament
This year the focus was
less on the comedy aspects and more on
excellent golf. The tournament ran down to the 54th hole with Jack
Wagner edging out Billy Joe Tolliver and Dan Quinn. All three finished
with birdies. Lance Armstrong proved to be the major attraction,
although his stay was cut short due to prior obligations.
July
10, 2005 - Tournament week is here once again and the field is ripe
with stars. In addition to past favorites listed below we'll have
newcomers this year including All-Pro defensive end Bruce Smith, BMX
Champion Dave Mirra and the girl whose posters adorned my walls as a
teenager, Cheryl Ladd. Six of the seven previous champions will be
present to contest for this year's trophy. Speaking of past champions,
today we had the fortune to get paired up with Mark Rypien, the 1990
champion, for an afternoon round.(pics)
Besides being a nice guy, He got game. Me thinks he'll also have more
warm up rounds in than just about anyone else. If I were a bettin' man,
and he were at 8 to 1, I know where my money would be. Click here for 2005 Celebrity Golf

2004 Tourney (pics)- Each year
the Edgewood-Tahoe Golf Course and Restaurant is host to the American
Century Celebrity Golf Championship. While the Championship always
draws the big names on the Celebrity Golf Tour, like Rick
Rhoden and the 2004 Champ Dan Quinn, the spectators mostly come for the
big celebrities. This year brought us a star filled group including
notables like Michael Jordan, The Donald (Your Fired!), John Elway, and
who could forget the Man with the Golden Swing, Charles Barkley.
In general, Edgewood turns over the
clubhouse to NBC for the celebrities and their entourages. The opening
night Gala was catered this year by Gustav Mauler of Gustav
International, while the Edgewood culinary team prepared for
three days of six-hour buffets spread throughout the clubhouse and
across the course. The weather this year was perfect. The only thing to
possibly threaten the event was the Waterfall Fire, which broke out
early Wednesday morning just across the mountain range in Carson City.
My favorite quotes from the tourney came
from two young spectators;
"Look" he said, pulling a bottle from the garbage can, "It's Barkley's
empty beer bottle." Said his friend, "Oh Yeah, well I got Michael
Jordan's cigar butt!" Look for both on an EBay near you.
We look forward to greater coverage of the
tournament in 2005. The dates are currently set as July 12-17, 2005.
