DL Bliss
If you like to spend time
camping on Lake Tahoe, D.L Bliss is a must stop. The beachside area is
walking distance (stairs) to a beautiful beach in a sheltered cove (Lester
Beach). The hike along the beach to Rubicon Point or to the
historic lighthouse
provide scaringly stunning views of the lake as well as interesting
rock formations. The campsites can be reserved through reserveamerica. Hot showers,
flushing toilets, the whole nine yards. The spots in the beach area
tend to be a little smaller and more cramped than the other areas. The
other campgrounds are not really within walking distance of the beach
(maybe with a towel only). If you are at the beach campsite, or even if
you're not, you should make a point to get to the beach some day for
the sunrise.
If you are visiting after June you will need to take special
precautions for yellow jackets (meat bees) which become a real problem
from July till it's cold.
