Meeks Bay
Meeks Bay Campground sits just
across the marina from Meeks Bay Resort. Since it is a USFS campground
it is lacking in some of the amenities of it's neighbor. However, all
those amenities sit just a short swim or float across the channel that
separates the two beaches. It is less expensive and much easier to
reserve than the resort campground, however. While the beach is
somewhat less groomed, the water is every bit as clear, the clearest in
Tahoe by my view. The camp sites offer a little more in the way of
privacy as compared to the Resort, where they are packed pretty dense.
There is not much in the way of RV camping here as there is only one
spot longer than 20 feet (likely taken by host). There are a number of
tent only spots as well. The season generally runs from mid May through
mid October. Dogs are allowed at the campground, but not the
beach.
