Luther Rock
Luther Rock is comprised of
two side by side walls
named Distillery and Detox. It is a (mostly)
sport climbing area on the East side of Hwy 89 as you head up to Luther
Pass from Meyers. The rock is excellent unique granite and the routes
tend to be on
the more difficult side (there is one 5.9). The climbing area is fairly
cool and gets a decent amount of shade most of the morning and early
afternoon, but the approach can be fairly brutal after 10am on summer
days. The only climbs that can be top roped are Jonesin' and
the
unnamed arete just to it's right, although you can top rope several
others after leading Betty Ford's Route (5.9). 10 draws plus extras for
anchors should be sufficient to get you up everything. There is also a
bolted rout on the small spire just under Detox Wall, as well as some
interesting cracks.

Directions
- From Meyers head south
on 89. After the first right turn just after the first
straight
uphill section there will be a small pullout on the right side of the
road (.9 miles after Portal Road). Locate the cairns and trail across
the street and follow straight up to the cliffs (approx 30 minutes).
