Hidden amongst the tall pines on an out of the way road in downtown South Lake Tahoe you may come across the South Lake Tahoe Recreation and Swim Complex. This is the hub of South Lake Tahoe's Parks and Recreation Department. The indoor facilities include a the South Shore's largest pool, kitchen and crafts room, weight room, gymnasium, and offices. Adjacent is the South Tahoe Ice Arena, which houses an NHL regulation size rink, along with a snack bar, arcade, and pro shop. Outside you'll find volleyball and basketball courts, group and individual grilling stations, and an exciting playground.
Directions - To find the Rec Center or Ice Arena, turn off Lake Tahoe Boulevard (away from the lake) onto Rufus Allen Drive and follow the road about 1/2 mile.
