Lower Buttress

The Lower Buttress is the easiest wall to get to at the leap with just a 5 minute approach. There are quite a few climbs here ranging from 5.5 to 5.12b (a climb some feel is sandbagged). The climbs all come out of  a tall alpine forest before ending underneath the Main/West Wall. As with most of the walls here there single pitch sport climbs interspersed that you can hit if the trade routes are backed up.

Directions - This is a quick one. Turn left onto the trail as you leave the parking lot. About 150 yards after you pass the big campground boulder you will see the buttress on your right as well as the trail. Head up the trail and you will end up on the left side of the wall. It takes about 5 minutes total.
