Beach Weddings in North Lake Tahoe

The properties listed below offer weddings right on the beach on Lake Tahoe's North Shore. Some offer receptions at the same location, others don't. Since many of these are public areas (meaning publicly owned land), strict limitations to the size of your party and parking exist to ensure access to the beaches even during the ceremony. The map below shows the area included as "North Lake Tahoe" solely for the purposes of this guide.

North Shore Beach Weddings

Thunderbird Lodge - Located about 2 miles South of Sand Harbor, this private lakefront estate is a masterpiece. Maximum capacity is 150.

Meeks Bay
- One of Tahoe's most beautiful beaches with the clearest water of just about anywhere. Choose from the public beach or rent out the Kehlet Mansion which sits on a a point protruding into lake tahoe. Meeks Bay is at the southernmost point of what we call the west shore of North Lake Tahoe. You can also find more info about Meeks Bay right here on AboutLakeTahoe.com

Chamber's Landing - Beautiful waterfront restaurant and bar tucked away in quiet Tahoma.

Sunnyside Resort - Located 4.4 miles South of Tahoe City, Sunnyside offers weddings, receptions and lodging. There is room for up to 250 during their wedding season, which runs from September through June.

Ferrari's Crown Motel - Lakefront lodging with a beautful private sandy beach.

Tahoe City Commons Park - Commons Beach provides an elegant public beach setting for your ceremony. For receptions they have some fantastic BBQ pits and group areas. For more info and photos from this site, check out our Commons Beach page.

Skylandia -  Tahoe City beachfront park with pier for up to 140

Gar Woods - This restaurant on the water doesn't really have a beach, but I think it still fits here.

Hyatt at Incline - There are a number of indoor and outdoor locations for weddings at this fabulous beachfront resort.

Gatekeeper's Museum, Layton Park - Located at the mouth of the Truckee River, the 3 acre park has a lakefront lawn with a capacity of 300.

Kings Beach Recreation Center - There is a very large sandy beach right in the middle of King's Beach. lots of grassy areas too.

North Tahoe Conference Center - The lakefront conference center offers several choices and can accommodate a seated reception for 300.

Burnt Cedar Beach - This is a beautiful beach with a cove and an expansive lawn that juts out into the water. However, you must be (or be tight with) an Incline Village resident to reserve this beach.

Sand Harbor- A public beach operated by the Nevada State Parks system, Sand Harbor is one of the most beautiful beaches you will ever find.

Ed Z'berg - Sugar Pine Point - Erhman Mansion (Pine Lodge)
- Locared just north of Meeks Bay, Sugar Pine Point is operated by the California State Parks system, but is once again available for weddings and private events. You can also find photos of the park and Pine Lodge right here on this site.

Donner Lake, West End Beach - Popular spot on Donner Lake. Public and semi private options are available for small to large groups.
